as nellie approaches a year, we are really starting to see the relationship between these two blossom. in one of the above pictures, theo managed to crawl behind the couch--nellie, curious where he was, followed--and the two were back there giggling together for the longest time. a few times in the last week, nellie has been in her high chair or somewhere else when i've gone to get theo after nap--the first question out of his mouth is always, "where's nellie?" and then he usually says, "i want to go see her..."--that is heaven for us to hear, of course. he is, naturally, sometimes annoyed with her, especially when she gets into his things, and you can see in one of the above the way he says, "you can't have that, nellie!" one place they particularly seem to have fun together is in the car--nellie's about ready to move to a convertible car seat and further across the back seat from him, and i think he's going to miss having her close by. in the above we were actually pulled over on the side of the highway during a torrential downpour--but it didn't seem to bother them much!
