on my dad's side, it was a bit of an unusual year as we were spread across three states on christmas day--so we celebrated a bit early, in between snowstorms, and also enjoyed the thomsen extended family christmas, where we played some really fun games and had a visit from the guy in red. theo was big enough this year to really enjoy the gift opening thing and yet young enough to have no real expectations, so he was a delight to watch and very helpful with his sister's treasures too. and grandma, who inspires me in greenness, brilliantly used hy-vee bags for wrapping--how very fab!
