just a few newsy items on the big kid of the house.

--he got a new room! we spontaneously rearranged our entire house on a whim the day after christmas. theo, still in his crib (thank goodness), now has our former room, thus creating a great new play space in our house. his most treasured christmas gift was a train set from grandma and papa, and thanks to the wonder that is craigs list, a train table later arrived, making it possible for theo and nellie to exist in the same room with all the little pieces now off the floor. needless to say, he (and daddy) LOVE the trains. LOVE the trains. and LOVE the trains.

--at both sets of grandparents, however, he is now sleeping in a "big boy bed." seeing him in there for the first time was one of those moments that breaks and warms a mama's heart at the same time. at home, though, he is not sure he wants to surrender his beloved crib to his sister (despite the fact that he can climb out of it). this is more than okay with me, as i rely on his excellent naps for working time for me. it won't be for much longer, though, i don't think.

--he met a big red friend of his on a recent library visit--he's quite proud of this picture and has it framed in his room.

--he loves to put his towel on "like daddy" after a shower, and on this day he managed to sling all of his shower toys up with him.
