so theo was full of profundity and hilarity today. the profundity came when i was absent-mindedly singing a song about school. he asked me what i was singing about. i told him it was about school and asked him if he went to school, hoping to discern from his answer how much he really understood about that concept. he said, "yes!" "you do?!" i asked him, "where?" to which he replied enthusiastically, "at my house!" the intensity of the day-to-day, i think, can cause a parent to forget how true that statement is...and certainly gave me pause today.
before bed tonight, then, he had a really yucky dipe--which should tell you something about the status of potty learning right now--i was cleaning him up and he asked me what i was doing. "i'm wiping off your penis," i replied. as i was putting the clean one on, he sat up, looked down, and said with some relief, "it's still there." hysterical.
