despite lobbying hard for theo to be as a "bear market" for halloween, dad's creative side gave in to his much stronger cheap one, and mom's consignment store find of this dinosaur costume turned out to be a hit! nellie was an adorable little frog, the costume theo wore at her age. on tuesday we went to the high school where dad teaches for their halloween event. and then on what is inexplicably called "beggar's night" here in des moines on thursday, theo helped hand out candy to trick-or-treaters at grandmas with some of his cousins. we also continued our informal tradition of bringing treats to our own neighbors, most of whom are older. let's just say thank goodness theo is still young enough to forget about many of the contents of his treat bag by morning--by next year we'll never get away with that!
