recent posts on our little blog have included pictures of us at an outdoor rally on friday, october 31st--note we are wearing t-shirts and sweating. exactly one week to the hour later, we were at a playdate at reed's house, and the first snow began to fall. i'm trying to keep my chin up about this and appreciate it for what it is, but the prospect of winter with its inherent increase in "inside" time with two little ones is a little, well, depressing. and while i'm now a whiz at getting, for example, two kids and a cart full of groceries into and out of the car, it is certainly MUCH easier to do that when you can take your time and aren't worried about freezing temps and snow-covered noses! on the brighter side, at least nellie will do her crawling thing in the winter, and when the first warm temps arrive in the spring, she'll hopefully be about ready to explore the park on two legs instead of four. in any case, here we are eating apples and frosting cookies and marveling at the flakes. another signal of winters' arrival at our house--the switch from a mesh pouch carrier to a cozier fleece one, as nellie shows off in this self-portrait...
